A dad who identified as Jared from Oregon closed his call with the President and First Lady by saying, "Lets Go Brandon", a phrase that is used to ridicule the President.

"Well, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas", Biden said to the dad in closing remarks.

The father from Oregon then said, "Yeah, I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas as well. Merry Christmas and let's go Brandon,"

Biden then responded by saying, "Let's go Brandon, and I agree."

The phrase "Let's Go Brandon" originated from a NASCAR event. During an NBC interview with Brandon Brown a NASCAR driver, the crowd can be heard chanting, "F--- Joe Biden". The NBC reporter then said that the crowd was chanting "Let's go Brandon" in support of the driver when in fact this was not true.

The phrase "Let's Go Brandon" then turned into a viral slogan used as an alternative to "F--- Joe Biden". The Trump campaign also took advantage of the slogan by dispatching an email offering T-shirts that read "Let's Go Brandon" to people who donated a minimum of $45.

“You’ve probably heard it being chanted anywhere patriotic Americans get together. Well now, President Trump has put America’s favorite new phrase on a custom shirt. That’s right. President Trump has just authorized the release of his brand-new, limited-edition 'LET’S GO BRANDON' shirts,” the email said.

The Friday phone call took place when the President & First Lady took part in the annual tradition of calling NORAD to locate Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
